Background:
Anand Siththaranjan is a PhD student at Berkeley AI Research and the Center for Human-Compatible AI. His work has focused on microeconomic theory and machine learning, studying how to analyze and design social systems with human and learning-based agents. In joining the Kavli Center, Anand wants to leverage theories of moral philosophy and social choice to inform the development of responsible technologies and institutions.
