Vishalli Loomba

Graduate Fellow
UC Berkeley-UCSF Joint Medical Program; UC Berkeley School of Public Health
Vishalli is a current MD/MS student in the Joint Medical Program at UC Berkeley and UCSF. Prior to starting this program, Vishalli received her MPH and served in several clinical research and health policy roles focused on addressing health inequities among historically marginalized populations. She is keenly interested in how to integrate moral goals into the application of science and public policy and specifically how to engage in transdisciplinary partnerships to resolve ethical dilemmas. Vishalli is pursuing a career as a physician-scientist and she hopes to use her time as a fellow to develop better frameworks for communicating facts and ethical analysis about anticipated scientific developments as a clinician in different public spaces in order to have effective community engagement that can guide research decisions and drive public policy.
